With deep riches of the Nigerian flag,
the glory of its photosynthesis unhindered
it waves to me
and calls my name,
no ant can climb on; too
weak to bear the weight,
yet the elephant's fight
is nothing compared to its strength,
the competition is fierce,
surrounded by greener friends,
in the midst of enemies; survival
of the fittest,
Pleased to meet you, honoured
to know you exist
I remember sliding across oceans
like a boat,
all in pursuit of the unknown; you
Dear dear favourite shrub,
How I wonder your age and gender
Are you a she or an he,
the age of a baby or older than me?
